Well the officer started asking questions immediately so I didn't offer anymore information than what was being asked in the moment, and then he brought up the refusal.

Yes when I went to the border they pulled me into secondary and ended up giving me the paper that said "application voluntarily withdrawn".

Not guaranteed, but based off @State and Maine and my scenario I would assume it's a safe assumption that you will be. I will update when I get mine issued as well!

Fingers crossed for you that it will be issued quickly!!! I indeed believe that I will be put into AP then...oh my...yet one another step. I got DQ'ed Oct 20, and I feel like my IL will likely be in Oct, by the state of how things are going...I really hope being put into AP won't add on another a few weeks...Yikes, I'll be over 365 days if waiting by then.

Sending positive vibes!!!

They are doing other visas now. Looks like they opened up employment based visas too and are adding those into the pile.

If that is the case, then I guess we have to resign to the fact that Montreal will only be issuing about 100 interview slots per month for IR1/CR1 going forward (same as pre COVID days)

Someone reported they are inviting 2 people per 15 minute slot. Considering 6 hours of interviews per day, that is 24 people per day. Montreal appears to be dedicating 5 days per month IR1/CR1. So that's roughly 100 visas per month.

Unfortunately, there appear to be twice as many applicants with DQ in any given month now (September 2020 DQ) onwards. So 100 visas only cover about 2 weeks of DQ dates... (previously 100 visas covered a whole month of DQ dates). The number of applicants DQ-ing per month appears to have doubled.

Unless Montreal starts opening more slots per 15 minute window or dedicate more days for IR1/CR1 interviews, the wait time will exponentially increase...

Yup agreed...I'm still thinking the patterns I noticed for the last 2 rounds of ILs: they gave interviews for about 13-14 days of DQ dates:

JULY
DQ date: Sept 9 - 21 = 13 days

AUG
DQ dates: Sept 22 - Oct 5 = 14 days

So I assume this could likely happen (if this "pattern" continues):

SEPT
DQ dates: Oct 6 - 18 = 13 days

OCT
DQ dates: Oct 19 - 31 = 13 days

I know the Canadian Police clearance’s validity is until two years now. Mine will expire in September 2021. Should I renew just to be sure? Or they will still accept my police clearance? Thank you.

They accept it as long as it's not passed the 2 year mark. I used mine that expired July 10th 2021 and it was all good

That’s the math I did as well. They only way to clear this backlog is to hire more staff or open more interview days. It’s almost the end of the year so maybe they will hire more staff. I’m not 100% sure but I think they officers need to be American if that’s the case they may have hired new staff but are waiting for Canada to put threw work visas for them. :( only time will tell.

Thank you! It maybe more than a week because of how far I live. But that's ok

Hi Guys,

Just signed up... Trying to get an answer to this question. I am a Us Cit (with dual CAN Cit). I sponsored my husband and we were DQ on Dec 4, 2020. Since being DQ'd our financial circumstances have significantly changed. In fact almost all the info is different than what I submitted on the I-184. The questions I have are: 1. Do I need to upload the new I-184 to NVC? 2. If so will that bump our DQ date? 3. If not will NVC just pass the old info onto Montreal and will Montreal accept our new info? I am soo confused about what t o do any help would be greatly appreciated!

Just upload new I-864 and supporting documents. And make sure to submit it. It will not change you DQ date.

Thank you for the quick reply. Are you certain it wont change our DQ date? I would hate to submit it and find out differently. We have been waiting sooo long!! Also I have been unable to find any written info on this subject online. Do you have a link that would confirm this? Thanks so much.

I have personal experience. You are welcome to call NVC to confirm it.
