Hi all Vjer,

Quick question, I filed for K1 Visa on 6/27, they cashed my check yesterday.Does that mean that my paperworks is good and that they will be sending me the packet1 soon? I am happy about getting it started and moving along...

No... it just means that they got your file and cashed the check

You should receive NOA1, which is not a packet, but a paper (notice of action), where they state they received your file. From there you will be able to get your case number, so that you can follow it online (you can also get the number from the back of the checque).

NOA2, which is the approval, will come later on... hang on, you are just at the beginning of the road  good thing you're with Vermont... they are moving faster as far as I know.

Yes, be glad you are at the Vermont Service Center. You should make a timeline and then compare it to others on this site, it's a really neat tool and very accurate.

You're NOA1 should be delivered very soon. NOA1 means Notice of Action One. NOA2 is the really important one. You get that when your petition is approved stateside. Then, the file is moved to the consulate. Upon receipt, the consulate will mail your fiancee Packet 3, which is a breakdown of information needed including a physical. Once you return packet 3, the consulate will schedule your fiancee's interview for K1 visa.

Hope this helps, good luck, and it will be over before you know it

Yes... there is :guides:

You will find lots of useful information there! I also saw you filled in your timeline, you have a projected date of adjudication (NOA2). That is based on estimations of everyone filling their timelines here in visajourney and it's more or less accurate.

There are also lots of statistics if you browse over the K1 case filing and progress board http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showforum=128

:) good luck and you can at least be reassured you're connected to the best source of info there is on this process: visajourney

There's not much you need to do unless they send you an RFE. Way down the line when the HCMC consulate gets your case there will be a host of things for you to gather in preparation for your fiance's interview.

The fun is just beginning.
