During a five-day campaign in late June, 175 people were arrested in Orange County on immigration violations. The crackdown netted 27 criminal suspects, including a murder suspect and a convicted child molester.

"The arrests make you think that Santa Ana is more vulnerable than other communities and it may be a good idea to make it a sanctuary city where immigrants do not have to be concerned about increased enforcement activity," said Amin David, who heads Los Amigos of Orange County, a civic group.

I hate to burst Amin David's bubble and rain on his parade, but the Federal government doesn't abide by lame proclamations of "sanctuary" for illegal aliens by misguided local politicians. They can choose not to cooperate with ICE, but ICE can arrest, detain, and deport illegal aliens in their city whether they like it or not.

Yea...it kind of makes one wonder what kind of lame idiot politician wants to protect illegal alien criminals from being deported with a lame "sanctuary city" proclamation. Who's interest are they looking out for? Throw the corrupt bastards out of office!

not sure what the your complaint is about. if you read and comprehend the entire article, it is clear that the officials involved know that "sanctuary city" is a political move aka not a legal blockade. last time i check, making political statements was still ok around here.

Since they undergo no background check to enter this country, there are probably quite a few rapists and murderers in the country that shouldn't be.
