Luis and I married exactly 2 months 1 day after we met. We might have waited a couple more months if he'd been able to stay in the States longer, but really, we found no reason not to just marry.

It was blatantly obvious to us both, within about a week of knowing each other, that we would spend our lives together.

Hubby & I talked about this last week in fact!! We both agreed that we would have waited/dated a lot longer had we lived in the same town/country. For sure!! We would have taken more time getting to know each other's families, just dating more and probably would have taken care of some debt first. As it was we applied for K-1 after 2 months of meeting. It came up in our interview as well.. "what's the rush", and we told him - we're in our 30's we know this is what we want, we've both been divorced, we just want to be together.. why wait?

Although my husband mentioned marrying me after 4 months of us being together - I think we would have waited longer had we been living in the same country. For me 25 yrs old was young to be married....and my husband said he didn't think he'd get married before he was 30 (and he's 24).

However, we had been dating for 2 1/2 years by the time we tied the knot and we often say that this is how destiny worked out and we're very happily married.

Now I think it was the perfect time for us and I love being married!!

When we first got into a relationship, my husband and I made a mutual agreement for him to finish his schooling of fin the Netherlands (which would have been another three years or so). After meeting each other, and spending almost a year talking on the phone and making visits between countries, we knew we couldn't go through this separation any longer. It was killing the both of us every time we had to say goodbye at an airport. So, we got married quite a bit earlier than intended, and my husband is starting his schooling over here in the United States. He's about two years behind most normal college students, but on the positive side, a degree from an American college would be more acceptable here.

hmmm, not sure how to answer this one....

I think we would have gotten married sooner had we both been living closer together and in the same country.... we met in 2002 and didn't get married until 2004... but then we did get married so we could start the immigration process.... so I am not sure...

We got engaged while he was living here (late April 2004), originally planned for him to go back to the UK, do K-1 and get married a year later (May 2005), but then decided to get married only 2 months later (early July 2004) and AOS from his non-immigrant visa. So yes.

Quite the opposite - we married SLOWER because of the distance (and the money required for the whole process, which had to be saved up from somewhere!) If DH had been Australian I don't think we would have been engaged for four years!
