I know -- and this was discussed on that show. And it's kind of an interesting phenomenon with women who protect these kinds of men. I have often thought about the psychology of this, and come to my completely unprofessional opinion that women who do this sort of thing are deflecting to save not only their own high profile jobs (because you know if they say something, they're cut off/out ASAP) but also to prevent any of the same behavior being directed towards themselves.

The important thing is that the status of Cuomo's remaining supporters is quite low, compared to his opponents. He won't back down because he's a narcissistic, egomaniacal, gaslighting, abusive monster. Anyone willing to go down with him deserves their just deserts.

There are no deserts in NY of which I am aware.

As for why Cuomo is "getting away with it", see also Newsom recall, Hunter Biden investigation, The Big Guy, etc. etc. etc.

It is nothing less than sickening to watch all these people get away with their crimes that all of us would be quickly prosecuted for.

Are you sure you are talking about Cuomo?  I kept hearing last year he was the epitome of leadership, and there was a lot of talk that he would be recruited to replace Old Joe if necessary.  I suppose there are some that actually have a thing for being around power.  We will see what the legislature of NY State does in the end as I don't think Cuomo is going to give them the easy out by resigning.

The man deserves an EMMY, dammit!!  (Again, I think it is sad that he is being looked upon more unfavorably over this harassment issue than the deaths of over 1,000 elderly in nursing homes last year).

It's a phrase.

get one's just deserts

phrase of deserts

  1. receive the appropriate reward or (more usually) punishment for one's actions.
"those who caused great torment to others rarely got their just deserts"

I did read an article on the process, seems he can hang around for some time.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

If I start a restaurant, it will be called "just desserts" , wild guess what the menu looks like. I might even put one in the desert.

THE ARAB IN THE DESERT

An Arab was walking through the Sahara desert, desperate for water, when he saw something, far off in the distance.  Hoping to find water, he walked toward the image, only to find a little old Jewish man sitting at a card table with a bunch of neckties laid out on it.  The Arab asked, "Please -- I'm dying of thirst... can I have some water?"
The man replied, "I don't have any water, but why don't you buy a tie?  Here's one that goes nicely with your robes."
The Arab shouted, "I don't want a tie, you idiot -- I need water!"
"OK, so don't buy a tie.  But to show you what a nice guy I am, I'll tell you that over that hill there, about four miles, is a nice restaurant.  Walk that way -- they'll give you all the water you want." The Arab thanked him, walked away towards the hill, and eventually disappeared into the distance.
Three hours later, the Arab came crawling back to where the man was sitting behind his card table.  The man said, "I told you, about four miles over that hill.  Couldn't you find it?"
The Arab rasped, "I found it all right.  They wouldn't let me in without a tie!"

And I expect he will.  I heard someone suggest Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, and Joe Biden need to have a sit down with Andrew C. to talk him into resigning.. I am not sure showing up with two people that seem to have gotten away with their own supposedly picadilloes would convince Andrew C. to accept his fate.

Browne started it, but could never finish it, Glenn Frey did that for him. The Eagles have rocked it very well for decades.

I don't think I have ever heard Browne's version, will have to give it a listen.

ETA: Nope, don't really care for the JB version.  Maybe if I hadn't heard the Eagle's version for many years... they just did it so much better.

I would put in the Big Lebowski gif here but it has a bad word in it.
