How long after an interview is there notice of oath ceremony being scheduled? My husband’s interview was March 31, and it still says ‘oath ceremony will be scheduled’. Thanks for any insight!

We waited 2 weeks to hear for an oath 6 weeks away. Interviewed on 21st of March and Ceremony is May 16. There was a name changed so maybe because of that there is a long wait.

Let us know how the ceremony went!

It went well!  They said it was the first in-person oath ceremony since the pandemic began, so as you can imagine there were a LOT of people (like 1500 people).  The ceremony itself was about 30 mins but what took hours was waiting to get into the building, processing upon entering, and collecting the certificates when leaving.  It was kind of an organizational nightmare but we made it. Lol!  And just such relief that it is all over.  But as always there’s things to do : now to get on with the SSN updates and passport applications.  The neverending paper trail. Lol

Could you please share your/his interview experience at Albany? We have so few data points for this small office, especially for standalone N400 case without 751.

Thanks!!!

Thanks!!!

His interview was very quick! He was in and out in about 15 minutes. He said that he was pretty much just asked the civics questions, he was only asked 6 since he got them all correct. He was asked some general questions, where were you born, when were you married, how long have you been here, etc. He did the quick English reading/writing on a tablet of a very basic sentence. Then they went through his application form to make sure there were no discrepancies, and talked about his work history. Finally she gave him a letter that says he passed the civics exam and that they are recommending him for naturalization and scheduling an oath ceremony. We actually got the oath ceremony letter today, scheduled for May 4th. It was very basic and quick honestly.

Best of luck to you!!

1500???  Wow!  Yeah I can imagine the wait of going through each person, but it's an experience to remember for life!  I've got mine Wednesday (about 48 hours from now, not that I'm counting lol!)

Glad you're now a US citizen!!

I had completely pushed the N400 at the back of my mind after applying due to life getting busy. Today I was thinking "hmm.. it's been a while since I last checked".

Looked at my case number, and saw that status was updated to 2 days ago, saying that my interview has been scheduled and that a letter is being sent to me.

Woo!

Citizenship interview was today, and success!

Now, we wait for the ceremony letter.

Depending on how quickly that comes in the mail and is scheduled, we may need to reschedule the ceremony.  Wife is traveling to Philippines in 2 weeks on her Philippines passport, and will be gone for 6 weeks, so we'll see.

Citizenship process complete!  First a J1 work/travel Visa visitor from Philippines to Texas where we met each other, then back to Philippines.  Ultimately, immigrated here via a K1 Marriage-based petition in 2016, AOS started in 2017, completed in 2018, ROC started/completed in 2020, N-400/Citzenship granted in 2022 - timeline link below:
