Hi Everyone,

In August 2021, I applied for Citizenship under a five-year rule. I had my interview in Nov 2021. I passed my tests but the IO gave me a paper with a box marked "Decision cannot be made today." I realize it is a common phenomenon. My local FO has an average of 10 months for case completion, while my tracker is at " 4 Months to case completion."

Staying positive for everyone!

My wife's N-400 was received on 8/4/2021.

Today we got a notice that her interview will be on 2/24/2022 in Philadelphia later on in the day.

We were planning on going on a vacation for the month of March but now the oath ceremony might be a few weeks after the interview?

Hi all,

My wife and I filed for N400 on Aug 3, 2021. We live in the Washington D.C. area so assuming Fairfax is our regional office. Got the biometric reuse notice the same day but still no date for the interview. Any other late July/early Aug filers in the DC area? Good luck to all!

Update to this: Our portal updated with an interview notice on 12/26, but the notice kept giving an error when we tried to view it. We finally got the mailed notice the other day, and his interview is now scheduled for January 28!

Further updater for anyone waiting: Husband had interview/test today at Albany NY office. Was approved (he was in there no more than 30 minutes!), and will take his oath next week on 2/4. Went way quicker than we expected!

Full timeline for us with the Albany NY office: Filed 8/2/21, biometrics appt 12/21/21, interview/test 1/28/22, oath 2/4/22.

Just out of interest, on your USCIS account, how many months were estimated until case decision? Judging by your timeline, it appears 5-6 months in total?

Do you have an online account? Have you checked it?

Originally it said 14 months! But yes, in actuality it was much quicker and I'm definitely not complaining 😀

We got a message today that our oath ceremony was bumped to Monday, 2/7 due to the snow. Just an FYI for anyone else filing out of Albany NY.

Mine didn't. Still shows 9 months. I applied online in New Jersey.

We also applied through Newark NJ and are currently showing "9 months" (as of Feb 2022)

Our paper application was received on 02 August 2021, and the NOA and registration info for creating an online account were issued on 23 August 2021.

After logging into the online account we saw that "a biometrics appointment" was also scheduled on 23 August.

We were not expecting this because my husband had just had biometrics taken in January of 2020 (less than two years prior).

Now over 5 months have passed, and still no biometrics appointment.

Plus our online account says the "case is being actively reviewed and nothing is outstanding at this time" and the timeline for a decision keeps going down each month, which both seem like contradictions if the biometrics appointment is still pending.

Like many of you who had your biometrics reused, the original estimated timeline said 15 months but was quickly updated to 13 months.

However, I think that later changed to 14 months and has stayed on that timeline until now, because 9 months from now would be 14 months since application was accepted.

So my questions are:

1. Has anyone else been waiting a long time for a biometrics appointment? If so, does your estimated time for a decision keep decreasing? Does your account say "case is being actively reviewed and nothing is outstanding"??

2. Has anyone else had "biometrics appointment scheduled" appear on your online account, but then your previous biometrics were reused in the end?

Thanks in advance!
