Hello.. For U.S visitors visa what is the best time to include in the length of stay?  Is a 2 weeks or 1 month length of stay ideal eventhough the person most likely will stay more than that? Also, must the applicant sign for themselves if they didn't fill the application?

Thanks

Honesty is a virtue. Say the truth.

Regardless of what is in the DS-160 for planned length of stay, US immigration law requires the consul officer to presume that the tourist visa applicant intends to stay in the US for more than 6 months.  Even if the applicant puts 1 day for their length of stay, they will still be denied if their circumstances do not convince the CO that they have strong ties to their home country that would compel them to return in a timely manner.

Also, must the applicant sign for themselves if they didn't fill the application? - Big YES. Every info on the application is theirs so they did to make sure it's 100% correct by signing and acknowledging.

Thanks

You should say the truth at all times. How you define this truth is entirely up to you..

Seriously? You apply for the amount of time you are intending to stay. It is not that complicated; just be truthful.
