Hello every one

My fiancé live in Iraq and  finished her K1 visa interview last week in UAE because the U.S embassy in Iraq is closed, and they gave her a blue paper marked on  DS-553 & passport. Her understanding was she need to upload those documents online, but when I log in on https://ais.usvisa-info.com/ , there is no option to upload any documents. Instead, I submitted a request but I got the mail document with a bar code. Is the only way to send these documents is  by mailing them? If so, how she can mail her passport how will be able to back home? BTw, she filled the DS5535 on the next day of interview and went to the embassy but they said we are not able to take it by hand. Thanks

She can request her passport back if she needs to travel.  Follow the directions about submitting the DS 5535; if they want it mailed, mail it.

Hi my fiancée also had to complete this form for the UAE embassy and we were told to email it back to them. Once she is approved, they’ll send instructions for mailing her passport back to the embassy.

Editing it to add that if they send the form to you in Word then email it back in Word. This caused a lot of confusion and delay for us.

Hello, my wife is currently in Iraq right now and awaiting an interview appointment at the embassy in Abu Dhabi. So is the UAE open to Iraqis then, or was your fiance already living in the UAE? Also how long did it take to get the interview.

Thanks

Thanks, would you mind telling me how long took them to approve it after you emailed it to them?

We are still in waiting. It’s been 6 weeks. Make sure to email them after you send it to confirm receipt. Then I recommend emailing at least once a week to follow up. They’ll likely stop responding at some point, but we’ve noticed that they do update our case after getting the email. Update meaning the “last updated” date changes on CEAC; no idea what changes they’ve actually made. But at least we know our case is on their minds.

They haven’t confirmed receipt of the 5535 form yet. What should we do?

You don’t have a timeline so I couldn’t see, but what consulate/embassy and how long ago did you submit the form?
