Apologies in advance as this may appear to be a silly question ...I have K1 visa and have plans in place to enter US later this month - due to the timing of the wedding ( 7 days after arrival) i suspect I will have to apply for my SSN in my married name?...

Thinking further ahead - i am wondering if i need to keep all the K1 evidence...did anyone actually need to re present it at any time? - ( I know birth certificate marriage divorce etc is needed but i am refering to boarding passes - greetings cards - phone bills) I suspect not but i just want to make sure - many thanks for your patience and understanding

I think you should keep it on hand, because it could be helpful in an interview to show the progression of your relationship. When you're filing for AOS, the emphasis should be on providing evidence of a bonafide marriage. This entails things like joint leases/mortgage, joint credit cards, showing as beneficiary on life insurance, joint medical insurance, mail coming addressed to both of you, gym memberships, Costco memberships, Blockbuster memberships, etc... be sure to take as many photos of your wedding as possible, and also remember to regularly take pictures together after you're married. Additional evidence could be congradulatory cards/gifts from the wedding. if you do a search here on VJ, I am sure you'll find many more ideas. This topic has been discussed at length.

Good luck!
