Dear all,

I have been reading this forum for a long time and I am making this post if you could please advise on my matter below.

I am a DV2018 winner. I had my GC interview in Spring 2018 and I had my GC visa approved, so in October 2018 I entered the US for some days to activate my Lawful Permanent Resident Status and then return back to my home country to tie loosen ends and then return back to the US permanently.

Unfortunately in 2018, two serious health issues with my back and eyes had worsened and so I had to defer my move to the US until October 2019(before the 12 months maximum time allowed under the LPR status). Specifically I had spinal discs problems that were causing too much pain because of their dislocation I had to take physiotherapy sessions as I was only possible to do the most necessary things every day. Regarding my eyes, the keratoconus I had from several years back, which causes eyes' cornea to bulge make my vision to be rellied on rigid gas permeable lenses(with glasses, vision was and is not possible), and severe dry eye and blepharitis experienced during that time made it difficult for me to move to the US.

For October 2019, I had booked my one way ticket to the US and paid in advance for a full six months accommodation in the US. However, unfortunately I had to defer again my permanent move to the US as the above problems have not gotten better.

The above problems got much better now and I am ready to move to the US. I filed my annual US tax returns since 2018. During 2020 and 2021(Covid time), I tried to see if I could move to the US despite my health problems but because of seeing online flights cancelled and because my situations have not changed, I couldn't do the move.

My only ties to the US is a good close friend of my mother.

So I am planning to have an SB1 visa interview soon to my home EU country. Do you believe I have chances? I know it should be difficult, but I will try because I couldn't do otherwise and move earlier to the US as explained above.

Any extra advise you could give me would also be much appreciated. Does also the Covid years(2020 and 2021) help as arguments, or should I only base my arguments on my health as it's the truth explained above?

Thank you very much!

Trying to think here about what you write (not to discourage but in all honesty)

Health issues :   we have drs here to correct a bulging or herniated disk  and PT personal if no surgery is needed

also good drs for eye problems

the other thing i read is you filed US taxes so you were able to work

I would imagine a lot will depend on the quality of your medical evidence.

Not sure what your plans are but medical treatment can be very expensive in the US.
