I'm Catholic and my husband is Lutheran. He says if he walked into a church after all these years it would fall down around him. I'm more religious than my husband but i wouldnt rub my religion in his face, so we dont discuss it. I respect him to much for that.

Separated!!

Yes, we are the same religion and were even before meeting. But if we were not, I would still love him and be friends, but definately not marry. For the fact, that I want a man who shares the beliefs as me and raise our children within our religion. He shares my views.

In my opinion, inter-faith marriages can work but with alot discussion and planning before hand. Which I think many people donnot do unforuntely. And this really sinks in when children enter into the relationship.

And for the most part, from what I personally witnessed is that one side usually sees the other's religion and eventually adopts many of the beliefs (and maybe but not always) converts or many many issues come up between the couple. Examples, I can give are... for instance within Islam Muslims donnot eat pork. So if a non-Muslim women marries a Muslim man, she would see that her husband religiously does not eat and would accomdate him and probably after a time stop eating it herself. Buuut if she were to keep insisting she would eat the pork, surely he could not say anything, buuuut when they had children I am sure issues would arise if the women feed the children pork. This was probably lame example...but one I am sure most can understand.

I wanted to edit my reply, but for some reason it will not let me... so I will just repost with my edit. Sorry...

In my opinion, inter-faith marriages can work but with alot discussion and planning before hand. Which I think many people donnot do unforuntely. And this really sinks in when children enter into the relationship. But never would work if one or both sides have the idea in their heads that "I am going to convert them".

And for the most part, from what I personally witnessed from inter-faith couples I know, is that one side usually sees the other's religion and eventually adopts many of the beliefs (and some even convert) or many many issues come up between the couple due to the "love conquers all" thinking and simply not seeing past the lovey dovey part of the marriage. There is much much more to a marriage, then having fun, loving each other and sex. Examples, I can give are... for instance within Islam Muslims donnot eat pork.
