2021-221g process for Mumbai embassy, IR5 visa

Hello,

my parents had their immigrant visa interview in MUMBAI beginning of July. They were given 221g for newer PCC. I need help with these 2 things if anyone can answer please. After we upload it, will we get further instructions from embassy to make the 221g follow up appointment or do we just make one now?

The white 221g form says upload and submit docs and passport to one of the 11 VAC centers and then make a "221g pending document submission/IV follow up appointment". My parents went to one VAC near india home and was told we need a appointment.

When I try to make a 221g appointment, there is no option to pick one of the 11 drop off locations, it just says Mumbai. Do my parents have to go to Mumbai again or can they go anywhere with the appointment confirmation?

thank you in advance,

I believe they can submit this to any of the VAC centers. However, since the option is not available, it seems you are restricted to Mumbai. I believe there is a number you can call for the VAC and confirm.

By the way, can you please include their Priority date and DQ date? It would help some of us gauge the expected duration for an interview. Thank you!

Hello @GC&JK , did they let your parents attend the interview when 221G was given for newer PPC. What happened after that. Did they just submit at VAC or did they have to go the Mumbai for another interview. Similar situation for my father as well. Interview on Jan 5 22 but they just sent email on Dec 21. Any information will be really appreciated. Thanks

Hi,

My parents just received their interview letter for September 27th , 2022 for their green cards ( IR5 application ).

They were DQ on September 3, 2021 by NVC. My parents reside in New Delhi and the interview location is Mumbai.

Is it possible to have the biometrics and medical appointment done with the approved panel of physicians in New Delhi while still go for the interview in Mumbai ? Has anyone else been in a similar situation ?

Thanks
