Does filing 90 days prior to 5 years green card anniversary delay citizenship? Or it doesn’t matter? Has anyone here filed for naturalization 90 days before 5 years anniversary? Did it delay your process or it does not matter?

The OP's best bet is the online early filing calculator, and if the N-400 is filed online, it'll automatically tell if you're eligible or not. The application won't let you continue if you're not eligible yet. I applied online on the same day as my eligibility (as decided by the calculator) and it went fine. Got a regular notice of action and I'm scheduled for an interview. Perhaps they can do it later in the day instead of the early a.m.

To clarify, my receipt date on the NoA was March 18th, and I had applied a few hours after midnight that day. Can't recall what time.

Are you trying to file exactly at 90 days before the GC anniversary date? If so, I suggest to file a few days later (e.g. ~88 days before the GC anniversary date) in order to avoid the following delay:

Thank you so much! This helped tremendously!!! I’ll definitely file couple of days later. Thank you so much

Can you clarify what you are worried about in terms of a delay? All else equal (depending on FO etc), filing as early as you are eligible to will mean you naturalize at the earliest possible date for you.

Yes, I thought so too but some people were denied because the system said they applied a day early. So I’m just going to wait for couple of days after my window opens.

Perhaps you could have said that was what you were worried about. Very many people file at 90 days with no issue whatsoever.

That’s what I did and a didn’t get an earlier receipt date. I suspect what happened in the cases like the one quoted above were rarities.

Yup, agreed. If it was common the forums would be full of posts like that, as it always is when things go wrong. Anyway submitting at 89 days would then seem to be sufficient.
