We just received an email from NVC saying that they are holding our approved I-129F and due to Covid-19 concerns, the Montreal Consulate has suspended routine visa services. Did any other Canadian couples get this?

We did. I believe it’s just a generic email they send everyone once they’ve had the case in their possession for 60 days. According to the website, Montreal is no longer just working on limited cases. It is operating fully. They probably just send that email out still because they want to inform you of the 120 day expiry and how the consulate will extend that as they clear out the backlog.

My fiance just came out of the interview, which took around 10 minutes, very easy, she was told congratulations, her visa is approved and to pick up her passport with the visa in about 2 weeks. Now, does the "administrative processing" phase begin, I'm a bit confused because I see a bunch of people stuck in the "administrative processing" after interview? I want to know can I be fully happy now or is there another phase of approval till the visa that I have to wait for?

Removal of Conditions (I-751)
2/17/24: I-751 packet shipped via FedEx

2/20/24: I-751 packet delivered

2/22/24: Receipt Number available on USCIS Portal

2/27/24: Extension Letter Available Online, Biometric Re-use letter, "Case is being actively reviewed"

Congrats!!! make sure to update your timeline. And yes this would mean administrative processing until she picks up her passport.

Yes! Please update the timelines. That makes for more accurate estimate on VJ which is very helpful to us all
