Hi, this question might have been asked before, but I am not sure of the process for the Fiancee part on the forms required, in particular the Birth Certificate and Police Clearance. I am living in New Zealand, but born in the Philippines. My fiance just sent the I-129 form last week.

With Philippines starting to put lockdowns in place due to the Delta variant, the processing of documents like Birth Certificate and Police Clearance can take longer than before as the government agencies will not be operating normally. Hence I am thinking to request for these as early as now myself without waiting for the USCIS instructions. Is this something I can do while waiting for them to get back at us or do we need to wait for their instructions?

I am asking because i had someone tell me USCIS needs the documents addressed and mailed to them from the agencies from my country vs me requesting these getting mailed to me to bring to the interview. If it is up to me to bring these to the interview then i can request it now, but if the government agencies need to send it directly to the U.S, i do not know what to tell them where to address it so i might probably need to wait.

Thank you so much in advance!

You can start now.

That person is very wrong and I advise you to not listen to him/her anymore for anything else. You have to bring these documents to the interview.
