NCR going ECQ Aug 6

Metro Manila is going back to ECQ Aug 6.  I easily get confused by all the different CQ's but I believe ECQ is where things get more problematic.  Might shut down Philippine government services and create headaches for people needing to get to medicals and such.

They freaking idiots over there

That is putting kindly, they are so lost over there it sad and comical at the same time.  They have no clue what to do, how to do it, or how to handle Covid.

They need vaccines over there, and many are getting the chinesse sinovac which is like 50% effective, they need some Modera, Pfizzer or Johnson & Johnson, but Duterte never made any deals to secure them, in typical Philippines fashion they want the USA to donate and give to them.

Philippines did finally wise up a little and ordered some real vaccines.  A significant portion of the orders are funded by various private entities, not just the government.  At this time they have on order enough to cover half their population.  Deliveries will of course be belated since the ordering was belated.

Orders placed by the Philippines.

40 million doses Pfizer
20 million doses Moderna
17 million doses AstraZeneca.
10 million doses Sputnik
26 million doses Sinovac

So that torpedoes everyone with scheduled medicals within the ECQ/MECQ period. What a horror show.

My MIL lives in the wilds of Panay.  She received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine a week or two ago.  So it looks like there are even more than on the list.

Finally done.

The J&J was a was a donation by the US.   https://ph.usembassy.gov/us-provides-more-than-3-2-million-johnson-johnson-vaccines-to-the-philippines/

My wife thinks she 'might' be able to get some kind of vaccine today.  She's not sure what kind it would be, and getting it at all is not a sure thing, but that is her chosen mission for today.

No.  All she needs coronavirus related is a printout of an antigen or PCR test result within 3 days of travel.  (Antigen is way cheaper, faster and easier than PCR).  The airline will have her sign some simple form and check the test result.  Philippine Exit Immigration may check it too.  LAX could care less about anyone's ronavirus status. No one anywhere in the US will check anything ronavirus related.
