Just getting started.. a few questions

Hi. I currently live in canada and my fiance and i are going to start the application process for the K-1 visa so I can join my fiance in the USA. We have a couple questions. My fiance currently visiting me in Canada is unemployed, before he got here he worked under a contract installing printers, but the contract finished and this leaves him unemployed. He plans to return to the USA at the end of April and get a job. Will this effect anything? We are currently fliing out the forms where we prove our ongoing relationship, how many emails do we include? Is there a set amount? And some of the emails are personal.. can we block out nearly the entire thing ? And our last concern, my fiancee will be residing with his mother at the time of the application will this be a problem? Thank you in advance for any information you could provide .

We used maybe 8 or 10 emails from different times in our relationship (a few from the very beginning, then some a few weeks later, and then a few from right before the interview). If you don't want the personal stuff to be read, you can either run a black marker thru the personal stuff or pick some of the ones without too much personal stuff.

If you fiance does not meet the poverty guidelines for the I-134, then he will need to find a co-sponsor who does.

Your US fiance must be in the US to file the petition, or have your forms sent to US and have someone file it for you from there.

You do not need to send any proof of relationship (save it for the interview) - you need to send in proof of having met! Good Luck

A u.s citizen does not have to be in the US to file for the petition.

I was a U.S Citizen that lived in Canada and i only had to send the petition to the service center serving the area i last lived in the u.s.You just have to have an address in the U.S so that further communications would be received at that address.

If your fiance is visiting you, and he still maintains the address in the u.s, he would use that address.

I was out of the states for about 5 yrs and my last residence was in Texas, so i sent my petition to the Texas service center.

It was only when my petition was approved and sent to the foreign embassy did i move back to the states.So i can get a job and prepare for my fiance to come
