Hello,

I am a Canadian citizen and I am looking to open up a medical business in USA.

My wife has already applied for marriage based green card for me who is a Us citizen. We are waiting for NVC approval of the application and interview. But the process seem to be taking long.

My question is: If I applied for investors visa and started my business. Would that interfere in my current process? I know I am so close but I am trying to see if this could expedite this process and I can open a business sooner with EB2 or E5 visa.
I would really appreciate if someone can help. I have been looking for answers but nothing has helped yet.
Thank you.

Do you mean E2 or EB5?

Yes you can pursue multiple routes highly doubt it will be quicker.

sorry. Yes I meant E2 and or EB5 I know they are both different types of investors visas. I am wondering if any of these options will be quicker?

E2 probably be quicker than EB5 but E2 is non immigrant.

I would expect it to be difficult to get an E2 with an immigrant visa in process, Begs the question how soon you could get an interview for an E2, I understand they are backlogged.

would not recommend EB5. It can take up to 5 years to get EB5 processed. Just stay long with your wife petition you.

duh
