J1 Visa Refused due to US travel ban

FYI - Any teacher subject to the presidential proclamation (covid travel ban) will be unable to obtain their US visa as long as the ban is in place.

 

Despite being granted with an expedited visa appointment, I attended my J1 embassy appointment today in London, along with several other teachers, and our visas were refused. 

 

The only bright side is that we don't have to re-apply and go through the process again; instead, once the travel ban is lifted, our visas will be immediately granted once we drop off our passports at the embassy.
