Since you received an RFE it's a sign they're trying to approve you without an interview, else they would have put you in line for an interview and you would've brought more evidence to the interview instead.

Depending on if your RFE response was good enough, you could be very close to an approval. In that case filing the N-400 could be a big mistake as they often "pause" the i-751 and wait for the N-400 to get processed so you get interviewed for both at the same time (a so called "combo" interview). If it was me I would definitely not file the N-400 at this point, but it's your choice.

If your RFE response wasn't good enough and they put you in line to be scheduled for an interview for your i-751, then there's no harm in filing the N-400 if you want to, as then you'll have an interview anyway and may as well have both together.

And like others have said, no one has stopped you from traveling to see your family. You can get a stamp in your passport if your extension letter is about to expire or is already expired. No emergency needed for this at all.

Good to hear that a stamp is possible even if it's not an emergency. I'm going to contact them next week to see if I can get an appointment. I must have misunderstood what I've read awhile ago. I know no one is preventing me from leaving the country,but I didn't want to take a risk running into issues when we return to the USA.

The naturalization is not a priority for me at the moment,  so I'm not going to apply. I will decide that down the road if it's something I want to pursue.

And what the legal consequences are for my other nationalities.

Hi there! What was the RFE about?

We didn't show enough proof of a bona-fide marriage. We initially sent our paperwork very last minute,  and didn't sent much: taxes, bank cards, travel stuff and such.

With the RFE response we sent a small box of evidence.

Filed: Lift. Cond. (apr) Country: Italy

@Figtrees hello,

It is a good idea to get it just in case, you are entitled to get it anyway 🙂 and I know how you feel I wish they did things faster so we do not have to suffer and get anxious so much 🤯 Hope you hear great news soon 🤞

Oh wow, 33 months? So you filed end of 2018?

I'm sure others have felt the same,but it feels like our lives are put on hold.

Hopefully good news will follow soon 💜
