Police certificate Netherlands

Hi All, we need advice. We are preparing files for the visa application in the Netherlands embassy, estimated to happen in October 2021. I am Indonesian living in the Netherlands so I need 2 police certificate. I made Indonesian police certificate 4 months ago and will expire in September 2021. Is the police certificate need to be very recent? Or created after I receive the checklist from embassy? Or is it okay as long as it is valid? Because if the latter is true, I am planning to plan to make the new one soon since it will take time it to be issued in Indonesia and send here by mail (app. 3 weeks). So when I receive the embassy checklist, I have the police certificate ready.

Hi JeanneAdil,

Thank you for the reply. Since I have not returned to Indonesia since 2 years ago I assume I can still use the expired police certificate?

Yes as long as the certificate was from the last time you were there

As far as I know all police certificates are valid for 1 year for NVC and embassy. But time to time Embassy can request additional documents and it can be new police certificate as well. But it can be added to Embassy even later after interview
