Notarized Papers and translations

Hi.

I called the USCIS and they told me that the only documents that should be notarized are the ones that are stated in the instructions... well none are. Other friends have done this through lawyers and they have notarized stuff. Is that a must?

And how should the translations be done. I am competent in both languages. The USCIS didn't say anything of me not being able to translate the documents. Could I do it?

Thanks for the help.

The I-134 is only thing to be notarized and that comes at the interview if it is even required.

If you are competant enough to sign the statement regarding the translation you can do it yourself

YMMV

Hi....welcome aboard!!

I "self-certified" my documents...nothing in there says you cannot do it. I am competent in both languages and attached a statement to that effect.

Good Luck,

Craig (& Karina)
