Could he come over on an ESTA? You’ll have to give loads of proof he plans on returning to Jordan, but maybe you could go back for your job in October, he could stay 3 months, and hopefully at that point they’ll schedule his interview

What makes you think he is eligible?

Anyone can get an ESTA depending on the country, not sure about the rules for Jordan though. My husband (Irish) usually comes over on an ESTA, which gives you 3 months. It’s just a quick application online and usually they approve it in a day or two (pre-Covid anyway)

An ESTA is not the thing that allows you to visit the USA nor does it give you 'three months'. The VWP is. ESTA (if you pass) is the thing that lets you get on the plane. Jordan won't be eligible for this. And no, not anyone can travel on the VWP nor can they easily pass the checks on an ESTA, that includes individuals that would qualify under the VWP. For example, a citizen of the United Kingdom, which might be eligible to travel to the USA on the VWP, may be denied an ESTA for a variety of reasons.

I’m just speaking based off my experience in Ireland, as I said I have no idea about the rules for Jordan but thanks for clarifying 🙂 based off what my husband and others have told me the forms are pretty straight forward and quick enough to fill out. Of course they’ll ask you if you have committed any crimes etc. and you could be denied for any of those reasons. I just know everyone here has told me ESTA’s are easy to get and good for 90 days (3 months) 🤷‍♀️ Of course the US and Ireland do have a very strong bond though, maybe making it easier to obtain, I know that’s not the case with other countries.

No, I just got a generic response that thanked me for my patience but said they won't expedite me and just keep waiting lol. I feel like they will review your request before August 30th. The expedite is totally up to your local embassy apparently. The NVC is just the messenger in this situation. So you do have a chance.

If not, at least it looks like the NVC is picking back up. Before this glitch they were reviewing re-submitted documents in 3 weeks so HOPEFULLY it goes back to that again. Depending on your local embassy, I think it's possible for you to get home before the end of October. If all your documents get approved this time you'll be DQed in August which will give you a couple months to get an interview. I know in Ireland people where getting their interviews scheduled 3-4 weeks after getting DQed this last month!

I am usually very good for finding loop holes or solutions, but there really just don't seem to be any in this situation unfortunately. I'm a couple weeks away from sending cookies to our local embassy with my husbands case number attached to it. A small bribe is harmless, right?😂😂

There really should be an official support group for all of us😏😂

Hi there, unfortunately they are not picking up.  If anything they have literally come to a halt in the last couple of weeks.   In this link is the timeframe https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/nvc-timeframes.html  Two weeks ago they were reviewing petitions recieved before June 6.   Today they are reviewing petitions recieved before June 9th.    Just last month they were reviewing a full week of petitions every 7 days.  I thought they had fixed the glitch but now they are as slow as molasses.  In my case we had to re submit some paperwork from our co sponsor so we had to go to the back of the line and that's exactly when they slowed down.

I saw! I was trying to be optimistic but they’re making it pretty difficult lol. I was crushed seeing they only moved up by one day this time, I really thought they may jump a week forward.

Well, here’s hoping we all get reviewed soon 😬😬

Thought I'd weigh in since I too have sent through an expedite request to the embassy in Dublin. It's for an employment based immigrant visa and I got the employer to send through the request. It's been about two and a half weeks and haven't heard anything back yet. Will update once I get a response!

Read that some people are getting interviews 4 weeks after being DQd? That's news to me! I'm DQ'd since November 2020 and haven't heard a dickie-bird.

Everyone who got DQed after 4 weeks was going over as a spouse (or fiancé I think) I’m not sure if they started scheduling any other visas yet.

I hope the expedite works for you! It seems like they’re caught up in Dublin so I’m surprised they haven’t started looking at other visas yet.

Thanks a mil! Yeah hopefully at the end of this month they will schedule more employment based and other visa interviews. Will report back with the expedite result.

Hey! I joined this group on my husband's facebook page lol search cr1 USA Jordan embassy. People are constantly posting their DQ date along with their interview dates. So that helps. Looks like people from October of last year have interviews scheduled in September. I haven't seen anyone post for November 2020 yet. I saw that the embassy is only working on immigrant visas and stopped all non immigrant visas for the time being. You can see that on the DOS website. So hopefully this catches them up a few months by the end of the year.
