Hi All,

For N400 application of Nov 2020. I previously got my Biometrics apt in March 2021, however I rescheduled it as I was not in US at that time and coz of Covid restrictions couldnt make it.

I got my new Biometric apt again I still have got about 1 month or so for it.

Since even after Biometrics it would take 2-4 months to complete the Oath and I might have to travel overseas after couple of months, My Question is

Can I walk-in (in advance, before my Biometrics date) to the ASC Office with the required documents for my Biometrics ?

It depends on the ASC but defiantly you can try. If said yes then good and if they said no then no problem wait for your appointment.

How to know when it is off peak, google maps or anything else ?

Yes. Or go and burn time there.

I think midday is offpeak.

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

Also when you go try to make sure there is no line or a there is a short line outside the office. If the line is long then your chance is low and better to go in a different time.

True. I totally agree with you.

Just to add  - And that is why I suggested to OP to go and burn time, basically if OP has time, OP can go and just idle in the parking lot and if foot traffic goes down or ceases, grab the opportunity.

Today I tried to get my Biometrics. I entered the ASC at about 11 AM with my previous apt letter and new apt letter, GC and DL. There was no way to know the foot traffic as you know these Fed buildings have security and people are not supposed to come 15 mins prior to their Apt. So I just went in as soon as I reached that place.

There was not a single applicant in the waiting area when I went in. The officer was hesitant to do my Biometrics, because the gap between my actual Biometric apt was more than 2 weeks. He asked me the reason for advancing the Apt and finally he agreed once I told him the reason. Even though any one else in his place would not do the Apt so early, his co-worker told him. His co-worker kind of tried to dissuade me, to send me back. But he was like I might get some flak for this, but he went ahead and did my Biometrics finally after 5 mins of back and forth. I am really thankful for the officer, he was really helpful and understanding. This would really help me save some lost time because of the missed apt.

Thanks guys for your suggestions 🙂
