Hi I'm a 2022 winner from Iran,since we cannot change our name in my home country i would like to legally change my first name to my unofficial nick name as soon as possible in my documentation process in united states.from what i have heard everything goes from issued green card to insurance and drivers licence .
can you give me any point on this? when can i start this process ?

Once you are in the US find out what the procedures for name change in your state are. Once that is legally done you can change all your documents. Bear in mind for some of them like green card it is pretty costly to get a new one ($540). Some people prefer to wait till naturalizing to do name change at the same time, then there isn’t this cost for GC. Many people have a “formal” name on their official identification but just use a nickname for day to day use, so seeing as it is just first name you can also consider doing this until you naturalize.
