Vaccines

Second day of my wife's first medical she had 1 vaccine. On her second medical she was given 4. They told he that since she had to do the sputum test for the first medical, they could not give her all. On the second medical she did not have to do sputum so she was given 4. If you have records showing vaccinations on the list, you will not need to re-take them. If you have no records, roll up your sleeve.

Also all vaccines are included in the price of the exam.

The exam is a fixed price, correct?  Seems to give them a financial incentive to not give them??

I'll make sure my wife and daughter watch them fill the syringe and plunge the plunger!

For U.S. immigrants from the Philippines, does anyone have a current reference for the required mandatory vaccines? I had touched on this in another topic, and someone said don't worry, St. Lukes will give everything that is needed.

I don't think my wife has any vaccine records (family home burned down when she was young) and my step-daughter has a few.  I found this list on an older post and I don't know if it is still accurate.  If it is accurate and current, my wife and step-daughter would probably need many jabs.  Especially my step-daughter, who will still be 17.

Surely if all these are needed St. Lukes will not provide them all for free, and I don't think it is wise to take too many vaccines at the same time???

SLEC does issue all the required vaccinations, and yes there are rare exception where a vaccine isn't available and a person would be required to get this vaccination in the states.  But normally SLEC  has what is required.

My experience is slightly different as I did my medical in the US and had my vaccines just last week. Your screenshot lists the same vaccines as the form I used (I-693).

Here's my experience so that your wife and stepdaughter have a better idea what to expect, in terms of vaccines.

I also lost my childhood vaccine records but retained all from my adult years (Hepatitis B, polio, last year's flu shot, this year's COVID shot).

I sent my medical records to the civil surgeon (USCIS equivalent of the Dept of State panel physician) and they told me to get three more shots: MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), TDAP (tetanus, diptheria, pertussis) and Varicella (chickenpox). So I was vaccinated for seven different diseases on the same day. 😂

I had a little arm soreness, but otherwise I had no side effects. It was funny walking around with three different band-aids on my arms.

After looking through all my medical records, and a short interview, the doctor marked the rest of the vaccines as "not age-appropriate" on the form.

In short, I don't think you have anything to worry about with having multiple vaccines done simultaneously.

You should have sent a copy of the DS-3025 as that would have shown the "comments/notes" as to why SLEC did not provide some vaccines .... a vaccination for the highlighted items may not be required if there is evidence of the person having those diseases as a child.    Those are very normal exemptions.

The issue is I never had an SLEC medical. In any case, it wasn't a big deal as the vaccines were all covered by insurance.

DS-3025 is a U.S. government form issued during a medical in another country for visa purposes ... nothing to do with the Philippines only.

The DS-3025 was transcribed to the I-693 for  AOS

Not in Adventine's case. She entered with B-2 and is doing AOS from tourist visa. Thus why she had to do a full medical with a Civil Surgeon in the US.

@Hank_ Yes, @HRQX is correct. I was visiting on a tourist visa, then the PH announced (and quickly rescinded) that non-OFWs were banned from returning home,  then my flight got cancelled due to bad weather, and it was the final straw for me and my fiance. We then got married and filed for AOS. So I had to do a full medical using the I-693. Never got to the SLEC stage in Manila. I shared my vaccine experience here because seekingthetruth was concerned about his family taking multiple vaccines simultaneously.

Out of curiosity I looked at the requirements for California elementary school admission which my stepdaughter will have to meet soon enough. I'd hope that might be representative as to the minimum SLEC would cover, at least for a school aged child applicant.  It seems they would need 5 shots (covering 9 diseases)  if they hadn't previously received any. With a whole second round of shots 4 weeks after the first.

(Required for California School admission)

Polio
DTaP/Tdap (Diphtheria, Tetanus, pertussis)
MMR (Measles, mumps, rubella)
Hep B (Hepatitis B)
Varicella (Chickenpox)

US CDC recommendations say it's safe which is good enough for me https://www.cdc.gov/vaccinesafety/concerns/multiple-vaccines-immunity.html

I had looked at Texas several months ago and it is probably similar.  It is age dependent and my daughters will be 6 and 8 when we move.

https://www.dshs.texas.gov/immunize/school/school-requirements.aspx

They have another list for college that will apply to my step daughter, who will be 18 then.

My 6 and 8 year olds have had a lot of vaccines but we have not seen their pediatrician since Covid started, so we need to start getting up to date.  By coincidence I just ran into him and found out that he moved.
