I'm pulling out of the greencard process just before interview - will this effect future USA visits?

Mmm this doesn’t sound accurate (definitely one can get a waiver if needed and it is the doctor’s call), I am wondering if you are maybe not able to provide acceptable evidence from your own doctor of the adverse reaction. Not to cast aspersions on your history but it would need to be documented satisfactorily. We had a waiver for one of the vaccines on our medical (different reason), caused no issue at any stage of the process.

Why on earth would I lie to strangers on the internet?? I have nothing to gain from this. I emailed the immigration doctor saying I cant have vaccines as I had an injury as a toddler and they said I can 'try' get an exception but they haven't seen one accepted yet so I would be wasting my time as after the consulate declines me I would have to go get them done anyway slowing down the process. They didn't ask for any proof/evidence as its over email before my appointment (which I am now going to cancel and its in a week). I dont actully have much 'evidence' anyway - all my doctor notes were destroyed as in NZ if you dont update your doctors correctly and get the paperwork sent over its all destroyed after 10 years. I have a few notes from my childhood doctor my mum kept and my plunket book. Then I also have video footage of me falling over every 10 secs and photos wearing a helmet on my head for a straight year from the encephalitis. Then my baby files show my mum declined every vaccine after. I truly don't think I have a strong case especially, when doctors are being so negative before even asking to see my 'evidence'. If I show up im just paying 650$ to be not they won't help. I'd rather pull out of the GC process.

Thank you for all your  info it was so helpful. One thing to note is even though I won the GC I didnt have any intention to immigrate permanently. A few of my friends have won the greencard and went over for a few years. I just viewed it as a way to go to American for 1-2 years max and be able to work as a fun experience (as there are no other ways to do that with my passport since I dont have a high skill or artist job). Once I got into the process and saw how demanding it was - mandatory vaccines, worldwide tax rules, I've released its not for me...

What would you recommend I tell the consulate for my reasons for pulling out - I feel the truth - vaccines, is best?

You don’t have to tell them anything. Just cancel the appointment if you get one.

And yes, if you don’t intend to emigrate permanently it is definitely best to leave it. It is not some kind of super visa.

I didn’t say you lied. I was actually agreeing with your conclusion that the doctor did not seem keen to pursue the matter for you, and just speculating as to why that might be. It doesn’t matter anyway if you’re not pursuing it.

You need to show some document from your own doctor and then present that one to the Doctor selected for the Consulate.

my childhood doctor who witness the reaction hasn't been practicing in 20 years now. If I got a letter from him would that be sufficient or would I need a current practicing doctor?
