His wife just went for an interview, but already has a visa??

No.  It's the expected visa expiration date based on the date of the medical.

Its a long long long story :)  Over the 2 years, he did the K1, something happened on the K1, then they did the CR1, then Covid came, then there was some issues with the medical (I believe), and now today they had the CR1 interview to get the visa.  I can understand his frustration, he has had a ton of bad luck.  I may not have the story completely straight but in general thats what has happened.  They have been together for 6 years, but apart for the last 2.5 years and he has come so close, then something happens.  Most that hangout in the Philippines section has been aware of his situation for awhile now.  Also, in the past, the US Embassy in Manila has been extremely helpful for people who are getting close to visa expiration.

Also, the President has considered completely closing the borders due to Covid.  That just came out today but no decision has been made yet.

The United States is now a country obsessed with the worship of its own ignorance.  Americans are proud of not knowing things.  They have reached a point where ignorance, is an actual virtue.  To reject the advice of experts is to assert autonomy, a way for Americans to insulate their increasingly fragile egos from ever being told they're wrong about anything.  It is a new Declaration of Independence: no longer do we hold these truths to be self-evident, we hold all truths to be self-evident, even the ones that arent true.  All things are knowable and every opinion on any subject is as good as any other.  The fundamental knowledge of the average American is now so low that it has crashed through the floor of "uninformed", passed "misinformed", on the way down, and now plummeting to "aggressively wrong."

I just heard from her and SHE WAS APPROVED it took 5 hrs to go through the whole process, they are doing pre-interviews now then a whole ####### load of other stuff, most of what we uploaded to the NVC did not get transferred to embassy they gave her 30 minutes to upload it all, they did look at all my financials also, once that was all done she had to do other things before final interview which they asked her 5 questions in 2 minutes and was approved they said tuesday or wednesday next week she will have visa ready for pick up at 2go spot.

I told you not to stress hahaha 😛 Congratulations. I think my wife should have hers very soon too! Buy the ticket and have her do the covid test as soon as she gets the visa.

Great.  Super happy that everything has worked out!!!!!!!

I dont want to cause any additional panic since this is a huge victory, but the President mentioned in the media that they are considering shutting down the borders.  It doesnt mean it will happen, but given the uncertainty with travel, I would suggest as soon as she picks up the visa, have her do her COVID test and get her out of there.

But congratulations on getting an enormous step of the process complete.

Shutting down sounds more like coming in than going out.

Right, but if you shut down coming in but dont shut down going out, then you have airplanes scattered all over the world racking up huge tarmac fees and they dont want to fly back empty.  Most countries that have closed their borders, have limited both inbound and outbound.  The worrisome thing I read is they mentioned Australia who has been almost completely shut down (inbound and outbound) for 1.5 years now.  They do have limited flights coming and going, but not much.  Its best for him to get his wife out of the country asap once they get the visa in hand.  It doesnt mean the Philippines will do something that drastic, but since its been talked about and given how unpredictable the Philippines has been with the whole Covid situation, its better to leave now.

I guess something happened at the interview today cause site was updated saying refused snd i still have not heard from her, so as of 1pm philippine time i told her to contact me or go back home.  I can not have someone in my life that does not want to communicated on such a important thing we have fought so hard for,  after a K1 and now this one i think i am done with immigration.

IT IS SAD SOME GET APPROVED OTHERS DO NOT OR HAVE TO WAIT YRS. when this government just lets these buttheads walk across the borders and give them everything they want while the rest of us try and do it the legal way costing thousands of dollars to go threw this process and they are apparently turned down, for who knows what reason which is now my case since someone does not want to communicate with me. Thank you all for the help i will be leaving the site real soon, no sense in me staying if not continuing on with this and my marriage.   Bye all

REFUSED  ... is  normal.  Everyone has a "moment" of refused.  Up until a couple years ago it would have stated "Administrative Processing" (AP), now during AP it shows REFUSED.

Relax, get a grip ... and a little more patience.  Unless there is something actually of a deniable nature  ISSUED will show up.

~~

I see by later postings that your wife was APPROVED.   As said already - CONGRATS!!  :)

Last I heard Philippine had a travel limit capacity of only 2000 people allowed to enter per day,
