No worries,  it's so confusing. After all the money wasted through webwed, I had little faith in attorneys and their necessity.  Lol. I quickly realized immigration attorneys are good for complicated forms but luckily so am I. All the forms come with instructions and there are a bunch of YouTube videos where immigration attorneys take geek speak into layman's terms. This site was helpful for me too. If you take the time and have the patience,  it's not too difficult

Thank you again

Wow so how do we get this visa oh my god you are really helping me

I can't figure out which visa he needs if he is going on a tourist visa. If he is trying to move permanently,  that will take much longer and has to be done at his country's consulate in Paris. If he is planning on returning to Paris, or at least leaving US after a visit, he can come with you based on tourism. The link I gave you is the government site that tells you which 39 countries are allowed here on visa waiver (no visa) program. The husband visa is the B1/B2 which allows him to reside and work permanently but does not make him a citizen. Those processing times are more than a year. Quicker to travel on tourist and return when it expires.

I think you are confused, and you are getting some bad advice on this thread.

Are you wanting to bring him over on an immigrant visa as your spouse?  If so, the correct visa he will need is a CR-1.  You need to petition him for this visa, and it will likely take a couple of years.

If he wants to visit the US, he must apply for a B1 visa through the US consulate where he resides.  His application will be judged based upon his ties to his home country.  He cannot visit and stay to adjust status.

Yes i. Understand this i thought if we got a temporary visa he could visit here for a few months

Of course. He will only be able to go as a visitor. You aren't allowed to apply for an adjustment of status if he came on a tourist visa if the original intent is for him to stay. That is fraud and he can get into trouble for it. My husband came back from UK with me on a tourist visa. We were going to return to UK after 90 days but due to unforseen circumstances,  I am not able to return right now. So, we are applying to adjust his status now. I'm sure they'll want to make sure it wasn't our original intent, which it wasn't.  He had return ticket and we have other evidence,  I'm sure it will be ok. But, yes, he can return with you. His visa will only be good for 90 days.

Yes we would just like the visit for now

Like I said, he applies for a B visa, and he must show strong ties to home in order to get it.

I stated as much. If the country is on the ESTA he can come on visa waiver for 90 days. He does not need the CR1.

Ivory Coast is clearly not a VWP country. If she wants him to come and live legally in the US, she needs to petition him for a CR1 visa.

Just now, Pandora Gadomski said:

Find out tourist visa requirements for Ivory Coast. He will need a tourism visa to visit temporary

B visa requirements are the same world wide.

Yes, please do your own research.  The person trying to "help" you on this thread has posted numerous incorrect things and does not know what she is talking about.
