Husband used to work with a current congressman, would including a recommendation letter from said congressman with n400 help speed it up?

I didn’t think you meant it that way- but how I interpreted it was he was going to do you a favor because you know each other to get you in the front of the line verses he would write a generic letter because you are a constituent and beyond normal processing times .

Ah yes I understand how it could read that way. Sorry for that, text can be hard to express what you’re trying to convey sometimes.

But it was obviously meant that way.   You asked if a congressman who personally knows you could write a character letter in favor of your naturalization.  That is in no way similar to the scenario of normal constituent asking for help with a federal agency.

I said that’s not what I meant but alright! You know what I meant more than I did I guess :)

Then if that’s not what you meant, why didn’t you ask something along the lines of “would contacting A Congressman help speed up the N400 approval?”. Meaning, ANY Congressman… But instead, you stated that he worked with your husband (meaning, he knows this Congressman personally) and you also asked if it would be a good idea for him to write a letter describing your husband’s good moral character.
C’me on. We weren’t born yesterday 🙃

I was wondering if he writes a good character letter would it help

Such a letter is not a requirement for the N-400. Also, how would a person who used to work with your spouse be able to judge your character? Did he know you personally, well enough to be able to judge your character?
