My wife hasn't been able to get COVID vaccine in the Philippines although she has tried.  It is simply unavailable in her area.  While it has no impact at all on US immigration plans, the most immediate problem with that is it has derailed our plans to meet in Europe so we can spend time together while we wait for this visa.  It looks as if non-vaccinated Filipinos are not getting into Schengen countries even if they can get the tourist visa.   As an alternate vacation spot we are looking at Montenegro where we could possibly have a nice vacation together and she could get some vax.   We are both pretty comfortable with her getting ronavax seeing as how it has been tested on like 3.6 Billion people at this point, including myself.

If you plan to meet up in Europe, especially within the EU, it will be best for her to get an EU approved vaccine and not one from China or Russia.  Those can be especially difficult to find in the Philippines.

Proof of vaccination with EU-approved vaccine (Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson or Oxford/AstraZeneca)

The United States is now a country obsessed with the worship of its own ignorance.  Americans are proud of not knowing things.  They have reached a point where ignorance, is an actual virtue.  To reject the advice of experts is to assert autonomy, a way for Americans to insulate their increasingly fragile egos from ever being told they're wrong about anything.  It is a new Declaration of Independence: no longer do we hold these truths to be self-evident, we hold all truths to be self-evident, even the ones that arent true.  All things are knowable and every opinion on any subject is as good as any other.  The fundamental knowledge of the average American is now so low that it has crashed through the floor of "uninformed", passed "misinformed", on the way down, and now plummeting to "aggressively wrong."

How about everyone just go and do what they feel is best for themselves and their families and not assume that people who want to get the jab are ignorant and those who don't want to get the jab are crazy.  Hm?   Insulting people will not get you the results you want.

Yea, but fortunately the Philippines finally came around and has on order 77 million doses between Pfizer, Moderna and AstraZeneca.  However belated ordering means belated delivery.  Indonesia just got 2 million doses of Moderna and is using it as boosters for their health care workers previously vaccinated with Sinovac.  Since the Sinovac alone doesn't seem to be offering much protection.  Malaysia just announced they will stop using Sinovac and Thailand is offering AstraZeneca boosters to their health care workers previously vaccinated with Sinovac.

I think most people here recognize that it's a personal choice. And hey, some people (SOME) have legitimate health issues that the vaccine may interfere with. That's between those people and their doctors. And that's totally fine. What's NOT fine is people saying flagrantly false things like, "The vaccine has killed thousands of people and it has hundreds of thousands of side effects." Saying stuff like this (especially if the person saying those things is not a medical expert and/or provides absolutely no reputable scientifically-backed sources to their claims) IS crazy.

I hear ya.  It is good when people look at it rationally like that.  I think, too, that there are a lot of people who aren't anti-vaccine in general, but are holding back to wait and see how things shake out, as the scientific community (heck, the entire world) is still learning about the effects of the vaccine and COVID in general.  The CDC keeps updating its list of side effects (some of which are quite serious) and the number of reported deaths (which they correctly state that it is unknown how many of the 6,079 deaths are due to the vaccine or something else.)  https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/safety/adverse-events.html
