hello all,

I am filing the I-130 online. How do I upload the passport style photos? Scan and upload the paper copy or just upload an electronic version of the passport style photos instead?

And why do they request a passport style photo at this point of the process?

Thank you.

My husband used this tool to upload his photos.U.S. Passport Photos (state.gov) Then he was able to just upload it with the tool on the site to the online form after saving it to his computer. He literally took a photo of himself and uploaded it with this tool so it met the specifications.

I think the photo is added to your case file.

HTH (hope that helps)

USCIS requires the photo for petitioner background checks.  Beneficiary's passport-style photo not required if not in the US.

Use the tool that Tedgirl sent through or use these guys: https://makepassportphoto.com/  (to make digital copies is free just select the right options), then you can upload the digital version.
