My fiancé and I (South Korean/Seoul) are preparing for our interview Monday morning (Sunday night for me). I feel we are ready but she is extremely nervous. We've compiled all the documents and went over multiple questions. However, there is one issue that has her scared, but I know she will be fine. To put her at ease, I wanted to know if anyone got approved with the same or similar situation.

She is currently 33 and was married 12 years ago during a student visa where she went to college in the USA. She got pregnant, had the child and the relationship between them got abusive. Her father filed for a dissolution of marriage and my fiancé and her now ex-husband separated. She no longer has custody of her daughter and last she heard the daughter was under the custody of the ex-husband and he has not had any contact with either since.

Will this come up in the interview? If it does, will she have any trouble with the interview as long as she is honest? Any assistance would be appreciated.

It might but it won't be anything to worry about

YMMV

Thanks, could you please elaborate? I know we will be fine, its just *she* is worried and she is the one who is being interviewed. Do you have any advice I can provide to her to put her at ease?

Nobody can say what questions will be asked that'swhy I say it might come up.   Regardless,  the best way to answer any question is honestly and truthfully.

YMMV

Specifically, what is she worried about? I think like 50% or first time marriages end in divorce. Not a big deal.

Now if there was an arrangement that your fiancé was supposed to pay child support and has not, that can be an issue.
