Hello!

While waiting for lockdown to end I wanted to make sure I have all my documents. I am the petitioner, and wanted to know if Sydney goes by 100% or 125%?

I meet 100% easily but fall short by $2,000 in 125%. I do have a sponsor but would prefer not to go that route.

Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!!

EDIT: This is for K-1.

K1 is 100%

125% needed for AOS and EAD and AP after marriage

Thank you! I heard that some embassies prefer 125%, so I wanted to know. I was gonna do the paperwork for my mom to help just in case. But was curious.

more important look up health care policies and the cost to know if you can afford them

it is still totality of circumstances to show income and whether the USC can afford a new family member (especially if older citizen and unable to work)

this is one we can not address as no age and her abilitiy to find work here is mentioned

just so you are aware if u intend she is supported solely by you

I am the petitioner and am 36 years old female, and in the process of finishing a BA and BS and currently transitioning from customer service to a career in social services. My fiancé who I am bringing over is a 30 year old man, already has an advanced degree with a lot of potential.

Because I am in that weird career transition, but there is nothing that is preventing me or him from employment.

There could be a 6-12 month wait preventing him from obtaining employment. I am going to assume Sydney is easy (I’m sure others who have gone through the consulate can chime in) so they may be good with you just being over the 100% guideline but the more the better. It’s good you have your mom as a backup.

EDIT: This is for K-1.

Hi!

My husband (American) and I live in Australia for three years already, even though he make enough money we decided to use my mother in law as a support sponsor because she has all the documentation from USA, what I believed it makes the process easier. I added a letter to explain our relationship and why she was going to help me, and the documents were approved without any issue. I recommend you to check your police check because it is a common issue that everyone have including myself, and my process has delayed for one moth already because of it.

Good luck.
