Is Biometrics a "request for evidence"?

We got a text saying a "Request for Initial Evidence Was Sent". Then the paperwork for the biometrics appointment showed up.

Is that what the text was talking about, or is there another (more problematic) piece of paperwork on it's way?

 

 

 

I have to call USCIS because the numbers on the biometrics notice are from out last (rejected) AoS attempt. I'd like to do that ASAP, but if more paperwork is in the mail then I'll wait in case I have questions about that as well.

An RFE is not a biometrics appointment.  An RFE is a request for some type of evidence or clarification which was omitted from the filing.

Could also be an error.  I would just wait to see what actually turns up in the mail.
