Yeah, it has to be done by a civil surgeon.

If I get this right, when filing for AOS as a K1 and K2, we'll need just the I-693a, which we will acquire by an appointment with a local civil surgeon, who will transcript the vaccination list (we have this from our medical here in my country). Am I right until here?

Up until now, I understand this was enough, but now we are required to have this TB skin test. In order to prevent a RFE, are we to do it in advance? Can we have it when we are going for the I-693a and submit it along with our AOS application (seems resonable).

Thank you in advance, Bianca.

Something is not adding up here. What about all those AoS cases transferred to CSC? Are they also getting RFEs for a TB skin test before they're approved for a GC?

It makes no sense to only require a TB skin test for those applicants who are actually interviewed.

There's no new requirement? The post I linked to seems to indicate that there is. Hmm...

There is a new requirement so you are correct. I wish they would have told me this before my interview today. I came on a K-1 visa and did my medical in Germany. I have my X-Ray, etc. but will now still have to do the skin test. Freaking sucks!

I also went through Atlanta office for my K3 interview and needed to supply the I-693A supplement, I was also told that I would need a TB skin test. Tried to argue with the officer that it wasnt needed as I am 1) already vaccinated and 2) already had the xray at my overseas medical. She said it is a new directive from CDC even with having the xrays etc done overseas. Personally I think that she was pissed at me for being late (didnt realise a time difference between the neighbouring states)

Just waiting on USCIS now for final approval and no I didnt redo the TB test just had the DS-3025 transcribed onto the I-693A, so lets see what happens with it. If I dont hear anything by this time next month I will infopass and find out.

Me too! I was told today that I need mine also. She said that the requirements changed because of that guy who came from Europe carrying TB. Let's all send him a big thank you note!

Oh, I agree with you there! It doesn't make sense and seems unfair and yes, there are people who weren't asked about a skin test. I just know that when the IO went through my file yesterday and looked over the medical, she said exactly this: Oh no, I'm not seeing a TB skin test in here, please tell me they did one on you because the CDC now requires it.

I didn't say anything about never having one done .... I was kinda hoping she'd get tired of going over the medical papers over and over and would just say "Ahh, forget it." LOL

I'm wondering if USCIS requires TB skin test to asian benificiaries. I think the guy with TB went to europe, so does that mean all benificiaries from europe need TB skin test? We've had checked for tb and our xray film is our proof. Well if they ask us to have TB skin test...it doesn't hurt anyways, but of course we hope for the negative result.

Seems strange that no one can find any valid information on rather TB skin test is indirectly [from CDC] definitely required by USCIS or what the trip is.

Where's all the "hot" Googlers?

Actually, this is what I've stumbled upon.

Not much, plus talking to a USCIS agent and she said I don't need the TB skin test (told her my medical history too, travels etc.), but I am not sure what to think right now..

I need to call the CS again, darn. I wished they just send me an RFE or something written sooner if it is a new requirement..CDC update was March..

I had my medical last July, between 10th -15th ..dont remember exact date.

I sent in my AOS package today, have enclosed the I-693 A instead of the whole medical.

Will the definitely call for a whole medical ?

Will that be asked through an RFE or i might be requested to get the full medical report at the interview?

Ideas plz.

I came here on a K1 and had my medical at the Embassy in London(2004). I just had an XRAY no skin test due to BCG. No RFE for the skin test wasever sent. Now after 2 years later because I'm filing for AOS again a skin test is required by the Civil Surgeon. Well I've just had that done at the local health center for $8 and it came up positive so i was sent for an X RAY $28 and I'm still awaiting the results. I was given a letter to say that I should never do a skin test again as it was positive and always will be. Anyway I also had the HIV and Syphilis test at the local health center -cost nothing. Once I have all these results I can then make an appointment with the Civil Surgeon to complete the medical for $ 50.

It seems that you do need to have a skin test after all. Everything is so confusing and stressful. Half the time I don't know whether I'm coming or going or just simply gone

What USCIS agent did you talk to? If it was someone from the "misinformation" line, I wouldn't rely on it.
