Hello,

My case CR1 was DQed on 27/05/2021.  Waiting the interview date from NVC. Status of my case is still "At NVC" . Should I expect that status can be changed to some other? How long do you wait to get the interview date? appreciate any help and thank you in advance.

Regards

I think I would try calling the NVC. They may not be helpful, but it's worth a shot.  Was your case expedited?  Ours was randomly, and it was a pain to get it all sorted out with the Consulate in Amsterdam because they weren't communicating with us.  However with ours, the NVC had sent it to the consulate and our case status was stuck on "ready".

No, my case wasn't expedited. No messages from NVC or Consulate so far. I did already Medical exam, because heard that sometimes consulate can wait for medical to be done even if no interview date is defined. A bit weird. I've asked NVC why it takes so long, but no answer yet. Thanks for your replyю

It does seem a little strange, my case was DQ'd on June 4th. And I have my visa in hand already, after my interview taking place on July 13th.

I received my interview date via email on June 15th, so 11 days after DQ. No expediting involved in my case either.

Calling the NVC might be a good idea, if you have someone in the States right now. It appears as if your case wasn't forwarded to the consulate yet.

But I would also email the consulate in Amsterdam if they have heard anything from your case yet.

I hope you can get it sorted soon, the process is long and painful enough without hiccups.

DQ date was June 4th, not 11th. We entered the wrong date on the timeline page.

Thanks for your reply. We emailed to Amsterdam Consulate and unfortunately they didn't receive our case from NVC. Looks like NVC sends to Consulate based on their logic (which is unclear) We also called to NVC ( 1,5 hours wait on a line 😳) and they answered that they don't know when case will be transferred to Consulate and what is our place in backlog and wait time. They had only one answer - " we are working with limit capacity" and that's it. 😪 I thought it would be super easy phase "just send case with documents to Consulate", but looks it is the longest and hardest for us. Hope it will move soon.🙏

Man, that really sucks. I hope it will move forward fast. The people at the consulate are really nice, so once you get your interview, you should be set.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Amsterdam is not processing any of the family sponsored visas that are not in the immediate relative class according to their website.

This what it says on the website of the consulate:

Quote

The U.S. Consulate in Amsterdam is providing limited immigrant visa services (IR-1, IR-2, CR1, CR-2, IR5 and K visas) and very limited non-immigrant visa services for students and certain petition-based workers that qualify for an exception to current travel restrictions.  Wait times will remain significantly longer than usual as we resume services safely.

When you look at the visa issuance statistics of the last months:

Monthly Immigrant Visa Issuance Statistics (state.gov)

There seem to be no F2A visas that got processed in Amsterdam at all, for months  (I looked back as far as February).

I'm afraid you could be in for quite the wait.

FX visa class covers F2A.  Amsterdam issued 4 in May, 5 in April.

Thanks for information, Embassy sent me message that family sponsored are also precessing, but it is Tier 3 priority and that's why the backlog in NVC is high. I don't know does Amsterdam cases are separately from the rest for NVC or they have the one huge backlog. Still hope that it will not take a lot of months. Still trying to reach the NVC again.

Thanks. Interesting that there were no FX visa in June, does it mean that Amsterdam doesn't have a huge backlog. Looks like my case stuck in NVC 😪

I think it just means that they fill up their slots with immediate relative categories first, should there be slots left the might try to squeeze other categories.
If you count the number of visas issued every month, it's between 19 and 24 visas per month. This is probably their limit. It's a shame because there aren't a lot of F2A cases registered from The Netherlands on this site, so it's hard to draw any real conclusions.
