Hi there! I think I am about to quit. I got my first letter from the embassy in Frankfurt, Germany over one month ago. It said I should go on a special link and follow those instructions attentively. Funny that the link doesn’t work. It simply doesn’t exist. So i Googled and figure out to pay a visa fee. Done. I also completed my DS-160. Done.
Since I don’t have any instructions I can count on, what do I have to do next? On their website they say I have to bring document like birth certificates, police recorda to my interview, on other websites I find the information I should send them my birth certificate, police records etc. What am I supposed to do now? Why can’t I schedule an appointment? Should I just send my documents? Maybe that’s what the instructions were in the link that can’t be found? I already contacted them via mail, no response. Really, I am so desperate, I don’t know what to do, please help me :(

Can you try the link using a different browser (like Chrome?)

Normally, the petitioner receives emailed instructions ("packet 3").  I would not just blindly send documents until you can confirm exactly which ones they want, and how to get them there.

Google is not a reliable source of current consular protocols.

Yes, of course I have. Different browsers, different computers. I even called the embassy in Frankfurt and the people on the phone can’t give any special advices for the visa but the said “ oh, yes, that might be. We played everything on new servers and computers so it’s very likely that it doesn’t work. Just click through our website and you will find what you’re looking for.” 🙄

I didn’t. Yesterday I called them again and this time I wasn’t that lucky, a super rude man was on the line, telling me only to contact the people of ustraveldocs.com and those people confirmed my payment, but that was about it. Told me I should keep sending mails. It’s just so frustrating. I get that, COVID, many k1 cases on hold etc etc. But this is also a service where we payed money for and no help at all, except of a paper sheet with a wrong link is a little bit too less. We applied our visa on 02/2020….we just want to get it done one day.

When did you receive Paket 3? Did you ever get a paper from Frankfurt with a link?
I got one from CVS, and then later one from Frankfurt, conforming my case number and that the office I ready to begin the process of my case plus that not working link.

Sorry, that sounds very frustrating.  We went through Auckland, not Frankfurt, but like I said, I was emailed the packet 3 instructions, which I then forwarded to my fiance beneficiary.

I hope you are able to get to the list eventually, and best of luck going forward.

They finally answered me today, and told me to send in documents. Apparently something went wrong, I don’t think it’s supposed to be the way that you have to send them tons of mails of questions what to do next to get further instructions. They just probably forgot to include the list in my letter wich  I received over a month ago. Oh well. At least I have it now! Thank you for you help and all the best for you :)

Wow!  What a headache!  Please keep us updated - it will be very helpful for other Frankfurt applicants reading this, going forward.
