I realize this is an old thread, and if the Mods want to split this out into a separate thread it is fine with me, but the IG report on how the FBI handled this case over the years just came out.  Rachel Denhollander comments are spot on, the report makes the FBI look pretty bad, but nothing will happen to those agents/managers that did wrong.

Larry Nassar: FBI failed to investigate USA Gymnastics abuser, watchdog finds

The FBI disregarded allegations about a prolific USA Gymnastics child abuser and later made serious errors in the investigation, a watchdog has found.

The long-awaited report gave a scathing assessment of the FBI's investigation into former team doctor Larry Nassar.

Nassar was sentenced to over 300 years in jail in 2018 for molesting gymnasts.

Numerous missteps and cover-ups by FBI agents allowed his abuse to continue for months after the case was first opened, the report found.

Rachael Denhollander, the first woman to publicly accuse Nassar of abuse, said that while the US justice department's internal review exposed serious failings, there was a lack of accountability.

"This report lays bare the corruption, but its conclusion says 'doesn't matter'. Because nothing happens now," she wrote in a series of tweets. "These agents retire on government pensions while survivors fight to stay alive."

people mentioned the parents - not 100% sure they were always in the room for his abuse - the real villains are the coaches and school officials who defended him. The gymnastics coach at MSU (a woman) asked the gymnasts there to send him cards when he was being investigated - what kind of messed up nonsense is that? And known child abusers the Karolyis knew what was happening. And don't get me started on US Gymnastics. All of them gaslit the girls who came forward - they are true heroes standing up

I am very reluctant to even tell people that I went to that school.  The cover-up/head-in-the-sand mentality at MSU was inexcusable.

I went there too - I always felt like Dantonio and Izzo ran, for the most part, clean programs you could be proud of unlike Ohio State. So yeah, pretty disappointing....
