CRBA in third country

Hey I’ve been waiting to file a CRBA for my child in her country of birth for over a year and when I check the local embassy appointment website there are zero appointments available for the rest of 2021. My question is does anyone know if it’s possible to travel to a neighboring country and do the CRBA at a more capable US embassy?

You should ask the ACS in the neighboring country if they'll accept the case. For example, the ACS in Amsterdam clearly states that they do accept such cases there: https://nl.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/child-family-matters/birth/ "If your child was not born in the Netherlands, obtain the foreign birth certificate."

Did you try emailing ACS in the country? When I needed my child’s tourist passport I booked an appointment that was available in February but then emailed them that I would like the appointment in October and they fit me in.

Yes I’ve been emailing them for a year, they’re worthless but I’ll see what I can do
