Getting a Canadian work visa while waiting on US IR1 visa

US citizen filing for spouse visa, been waiting 18 months in USCIS with no answer. Wife was offered a work visa in Canada and I was thinking it may be good for her to take it as we have a one year old and there has been increasing violent conflict in Ethiopia. I’m wondering if anyone knows how her acceptance of a work visa in Canada would affect our current US spouse visa application

I agree, many folks apply for US visas while legally working in another country, as @SusieQQQ said, you will just have to deal with the processing time differences with a new consulate.
