Post Covid Rules for USCIS offices:

Note that toddlers or babies are not in the above list of people allowed to accompany applicants.  That is, unless the toddler is listed as a dependent on the interview notice.

:: shrug ::  I'd still bring the toddler with me.  To each their own though.

But security has the ultimate say in who is allowed into the building/office. With COVID especially, it's totally understandable that they're still limiting who gets to come in or not. It'd be an unnecessary and aggravating way to start off the interview. Federal agents won't appreciate applicants not following clear rules.

Thanks for the response! Part of the reason I'm asking is actually because my letter got lost and I'm in the process of trying to get a new one (hopefully asap!) so I I'm not sure of their policies. May need to ask their office. I was just curious about other people's experiences of bringing a child. Thnx again !

@HF & HB I think the wording on the letter is "You do not need to bring your children". If you have no other options, I would just bring the child. Bring treats and hope the officer is OK with it.

If you create a USCIS account, I think you should be able to request a copy of your interview letter through there.

Do you have a picture of it?

Hi Timona,

No I don't have a picture of it or any way to access it. The rep told me all they can do for me try to get re-mailed in time and expect a phone call from tier 2 rep so hopefully I can get it sent electronically.

Thanks everyone for all the input and suggestions, its much appreciated!! It seems that with Covid the best would be for me to call in advance and check with them regarding my son, I wouldn't want to get off on the wrong foot with them. Regarding the letter tho, unfortunately both my searching and the rep on the phone confirmed I can't just access the letter online on myUSCIS, I need to get assistance to do that. If anyone can specifically point out to me where on the website they found their's that would be amazing, but so far I seem unable to do that.

Thanks again everyone, love the helpful community on here!

If sending it electronically is not possible, be ready to provide a fax number. That may be easier for the agent to do.

Great tip, however I don't have access to fax machine at the moment, but I'll keep that in mind!

I tried searching everywhere on the myUSCIS for a document tab, however, there is only a case status and a case history tab linked to the two cases I have with them. I took a look at others on visajourney who put screenshots of their online account and the format looks different. Not sure if it has to do with the fact that it was send as a paper application and not as a online application.

Actually, you can sign up for an online service for maybe $5 or $7 dollars. You get a fax number and the faxes get directed to your email inbox. You do not need a machine.

I just know that it is easier for an agent to fax than to email. Do not know why they don't have access to email. (At least, when I tried, they didn't). Recently, someone reported they got their interview notice resent via email. It might have been an RFE

Ooo I see.

Just show up to your interview. Tell them you lost it. The guy at the front desk will look you up with your A number and print it.

I know they can use A-number because I just came from interview and my bar code couldn't scan. So he put my A number and saw that indeed I was scheduled to come in.

Don't freak out. Go to your interview. Do you remember time and date?

Thanks everyone so much for all the great tips and input! Happily the letter arrived today, it was finally rerouted. So thankful! Just need to call and double check about covid policies regarding kids, the letter doesn't mention kids specifically.
