We are stationed overseas in Germany.  My wife has to renew her Green card after the initial 10 year period.  We started the renewal process, gathered all the correct documents and mailed the package directly the Potomac Service Center in Arlington, VA.  We used the provided address from the letter that was sent to us.  After shipping it on 14 June, it was just returned back to us.  Apparently they moved from the location or the address is no longer valid.  A quick Google search on this turned up others experiencing similar problems.  Despite the wrong address given, some got through, others didn't.  Apparently they said it goes through another facility to check for suspicious packages.  Ours didn't get through and now its returned to us on 13 July.  It is due on 2 Aug, but we're not sure we can get it shipped back there in time.  More importantly, we don't know what the real address is.  Its insane that they sent us the wrong address and I feel we're still going to responsible for their mistake.  Has anyone experienced this?  We really don't want to have pay another $500 or so for an error on USCIS's part.  We have tried calling, but its tough from Overseas, its hard to reach a human and wait times are over an hour!

Looking for any tips or suggestions to resolve this issue.

Did the letter say to mail the i90'package to the Potomac Service Center? Based on uscis i90 page, it should be mailed to the lockbox at Phoenix, AZ.

Your wife can also file it online for faster processing.

Update, went to the post office on base today, when they tried to put the address in their system they were unable to produce an address label.  I think that is why USPS cannot deliver it.  They went through various options to manually put the address into their system and it still refused the address.  We have communicated this to USCIS support and told them the address doesn't exist on Google maps either.  They insist the address they sent us is correct.  On hold right now with USPS to see if we can figure this out.  Fun times.  Will keep everyone posted.

We got some more updates on this issue and could really use some help on this one.  Unfortunately, we have not made any progress.  Our first attempt to mail to the Potomac Processing Center was rejected by the USPS.  We confirmed the address with USCIS now 3 times.  We have called the USPS twice and they have created two case numbers.  The USPS cannot find the address that USCIS insists is correct.  We looked on google and there were some people who claimed they were successful mailing the documents to 2200 Crystal Drive, Arlington, VA 22202 and also putting the USCIS provided address with the "stop number" also on the shipping label.  We attempted this, and once again, USPS said they couldn't deliver it because the address doesn't exist.  We have a case with USCIS since 14 July and they're supposed to reply by tomorrow at the latest.  Meanwhile, our deadline for renewing our Greencard has come and gone.  USCIS says that because of COVID it will be extended, but we're not sure how long that will be.  Long processing times are one thing, but we cannot even get our information shipped to the right location! Really frustrating.  If anyone knows of a way to resolve this, please let us know.

Is this the address you used?

2200 Potomac Center Drive
STOP 2425
Arlington, VA 20598-2425

No idea if that will work, but that's the address listed in the letter we got from USCIS back in March 2021.

The address that is on our letter head and contained within the letter is: Potomac Service Center, 2200 Potomac Center Drive, Stop 2425, Arlington, VA 20598-2425.  This has been confirmed by USCIS three times.  Despite us protesting that its not correct, cannot be found in Google Maps, cannot be located at the USPS and they cannot create a shipping label with that address.  We tried the address you provided, and underneath it, added the 2200 Potomac Center Drive address for good measure.  We thought that if one address was no good, they would at least try the other, but apparently USPS cannot figure it out.

Update. After over $90 in delivery fees and three attempts to get our Greencard renewal paperwork delivered, we finally got the package delivered to the proper destination.  I have probably no less than 50 emails between myself and the USPS pertaining to figuring out what went wrong.  Bottom line, the USPS messed up.  However, the USCIS is not doing any favors by helping the USPS out.  Apparently, many people have letters and packages denied or returned because the USPS doesn't really understand how to deliver this.  It really seems like it depends on who is working the route that day and if they care enough to do the right thing.  Otherwise, there is no explanation on why the package was delivered on the third attempt versus the other attempts.  USPS confirmed the correct address was: Potomac Service Center, 2200 Potomac Center Drive, Stop 2425, Arlington, VA 20598-2425. The stop portion of the address is supposed to notify the USPS to deliver the package to a security processing center where the package can be checked for bombs, chemicals, and who knows what else.  Then it is delivered to the USCIS.

Meanwhile we submitted a trouble ticket with USCIS about 90 days ago and we still haven't received a response from them.  I hear they're delayed because of "COVID" so who knows how long it will take to get the greencard renewed.  Good luck to anyone shipping to the Potomac Processing Center, its hit and miss.  I have an open case with the USPS to try and get some of the money back, but its been "under review" since 1 Sep, so we'll see how that goes.
