If you read back to his question, it’s very general which he asked “Is it true that NVC is only expediting emergency life-and-death cases?”
He used the word “ONLY”.

And your answer was

Yes, use a MD letter we had two doctors write us letters. The stronger the letter the better your case is.

And if you also read my answer based on your response, I quoted

Not true that NVC is ONLY expediting emergency life-and-death cases and I am speaking based on my expedite approval for my parents. Any reason can be submitted.

I don’t think I DISCOURAGE PEOPLE, I actually ENCOURAGED THEM to try and submit. I even replied “we will not know, until we tried…” “any reason can be submitted…”

So I don’t know what are you talking about me DISCOURAGING PEOPLE. 🤷‍♀️

Woah.....a little touchy are we. But anyways it is better to not argue. So my wife is going to going to walk away from this one. It sounded different. She was saying yes to him sending a letter not saying he could only expedite for an emergency. Most people are not lucky like you to get approved for minimal reasons. We had tried to expedite for very serious stuff like most others here and had been denied.

We got his MD to write a letter but the language is pretty mild - just a bald statement of the facts, as in "XYZ has (name of multiple medical conditions.) Because of said medical conditions, he would benefit from his family being around him."

And that's it. No sense of urgency at all. That's why I'm not so optimistic about our chances of getting approved.

Ours was the same way. But for some reason it still worked. The doctor was very vague on our letter as well. We did have two doctors write us letters one was stronger than the other.

What it has to do with is how concerned the person who reviews your request is. If you get lucky and have a reasonable human reviewing the request  you may get approved for the expedite. It is not easy to get approved for expedited processing. I have sent over 8 requests and spent close to a year at NVC. My case has been there since December 25, 2020. I sent an expedite on November 29, 2021 and ISB has denied all my requests besides this most recent one. I think because I had the strong doctor letters. Plus my priority date is in August 2020.

I noticed you also used two doctor statements for you expedite requests. Do you think using two impacts their deciding perimeters? Mine was approved as well but no movement or updates yet. I did get an interview cancellation letter.

Yes, I do think it helped. That is why we sent both. We also sent all of my medical records.

How soon after getting the interview cancellation letter after the expedite is requested and accepted do we get our case transferred to the embassy?

For us, it came a day after the cancellation email. It now says “in transit”. I guess it will say “ready” in a few days.

As well as I am, not here to argue BUT to help and give hope to everyone that are in the same boat of waiting to be reunited to our love ones. I’m so sorry about the loss of your baby. And wishing you get reunited with your family soon.

My response is about her quote of:

Don’t disagree when you don’t know if it will work for him. I sent 8 expedite requests until I got this one approved after losing my second baby in 5 months. So he can at least try what does not work for one may work for another. So do not discourage people.”

Misread the response as I thought you meant something else. I was thinking you meant you can’t use a letter. Anyways, these days getting expedites approved is like tossing a coin “head up” you get approved and “heads down” you get denied. Our case reached the embassy today. Now waiting on an interview but in limbo because we have the B2 visa now. So confused on what to do.

How long did it take for your expedite to get approved?

Whoa, that was quick! And you WERE approved, right? If yes, which embassy and on what grounds? (If you don't mind sharing.)

Ours was approved on the grounds of the petitioner having depression.

We sent the request last week on medical grounds. My husband (the petitioner has epilepsy, heart disease, stents in heart, and depression. Haven't received a response yet, except for the automatic mail.
