Hi everyone I'm a bit new here and i have a question. So we've done biometrics and waiting on AOS interview date. My question is will my husband need a new medical exam. We sent his i485 forms in March 2020 and he got a medical exam done here in the US January 2020 beacuse he was missing vaccines from his overseas medical exam and we  just wanted to be on the safe side. The wait has been longer than expected because we got an RFE and than we missed his biometrics appointment due to the notification arriving after his appointment date and online it never updates. Luckily that's done and now waiting for the next step. So we just want to be on the safe side and not have to make things longer. I've read that as long as its hasn't been ober a year when filing form i485? which it was not at the time of filing but with all the delays it's been over year now 😰and counting.

Since he was missing vaccines, that I-693 is only valid for 2 years from when it signed by the doctor. Also, I'm assuming it was filed with USCIS within the 60 days that the doctor signed it; if it wasn't then it's not valid: https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/volume-8-part-b-chapter-4

Form I-693 Submitted to USCIS On or After November 1, 2018

When did civil surgeon sign?

I-693 retains evidentiary value through

No more than 60 days before applicant filed underlying benefit application with USCIS

2 years from date civil surgeon signed I-693

After applicant filed benefit application with USCIS

2 years from date civil surgeon signed I-693

More than 60 days before applicant filed benefit application with USCIS

N/A – I-693 not valid at time applicant submits I-693 to USCIS

Thank you so much for the answer! Yes it was within 60 days before filling. So now we wait on interview date to see if he will need a new one or not since the 2 year mark will be in about 6 months. Im leaning more to go ahead and get a new one done because of how long the wait times have been?
