Hi!

My partner lives in England currently. We've been together 3 years, and our original attempt to meet was canceled because it was booked for 1 week into when the pandemic ultimately started.

Recently, he told me he got a plane ticket to fly into the US in 2 weeks. With the travel ban, I'm assuming he won't actually be able to get into the country. What would happen at the airport, and would that impact our future K1 hopes? He's stubborn, so I need some help convincing him this might not be a great idea, even though I want to see him so we can start filing. Help, please!

If it's a direct flight he would be denied boarding unless he meets a specific exception. Instead, he should go to an unrestricted country (e.g. Mexico, Turkey, Serbia, etc.) for 14 days and then take a flight from the unrestricted country to the US:

He won't even be allowed to get on the plane

YMMV

Was he really unaware of the travel ban from the UK?
