2Go Passport Deivery, need to pay??

So 2Go sent a text to my wife that they will deliver her passport this afternoon. They told her she needs to have 400 pesos ready to pay the delivery person. Is that correct? I have never heard of anyone needing to pay for their delivery. Don't get me wrong, I would pay anything that they ask at this point just to get her visa with passport, but I want to make sure this ia legit and we are not being scammed by the delivery person.

I can't remember where I even saw it but I seem to recall some vague reference recently that if you have it delivered to a 2Go location and pick it up yourself there is not a fee, but if you have 2Go deliver it to an address there is a fee. It's a good question to ask though if someone just calls you in the Philippines and notifies you of an unexpected fee.  I'm more in the, ask questions and understand the unexpected fee, only then pay it if it seems legit camp.

I have seen screen shots of older texts from 2go that tell you to report your delivery person if they charge you a fee. But yea, now it is charged. Like I said I just wanted to make sure it was legit.

Your SO opted to get it delivered to her residence hence the delivery fee by 2go. If she went to pick it up it would have been free other than the transportation fee.

Yes I understand that. But before it was free delivered as well. I wasn't aware of the change. I wasn't worried about the money, I just didn't want to be scammed by a delivery driver.

Here's the definitive answer to the wisely asked question.  When you register the delivery address on the official https://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph you get this option.  I'm quite certain that is new and was not there before.

Personally I will go for the pickup option.  Not because I care about the fee but because I could see delivery to an address easily adding an extra day or so in transit and an additional level of exposure to uncertainty.

Thanks. Yeah I set it up for my wife before they changed it. She got the passport back yesterday. Sadly instead of having the visa it was returned with another 221g. I was afraid of that. Her medical is expiring in 3 weeks. When they received the passport along with the info they requested from the first 221g they called her to say they received the info and asked if she would be able to travel before the medical expired. She said no. So they sent the passport back with a 221g requesting a new medical. The part that makes me upset is that they stamp the medical with the date of when you first go in NOT when the medical is completed. With a 9 week delay due to sputum then waiting forever for them to reschedule an interview our window got real small real quick. Add to that me still waiting to get a visa and an exemption so I can even be allowed to travel there to get them and it becomes more waiting.....I just pray that she does not get flagged for sputum again. I already have her booked for this Tuesday.

I don't know if it would do any good at all but if there is still 3 weeks left on the existing medical I would at least be on the phone and emailing and messaging and everything else seeing if it can still be fixed before the existing medical expires.   I hope I'm wrong but I was under the impression that once they get sputum testing they would always get it(???)

Well I told her she should have answered yes to get the visa. Even if we had to still redo the medical at least we would finally have the visa. My problem is she has never flown before in her life (to HNL is about 11 hrs). She is afraid of elevators. Add to that 2 & 3 year old boys and 6 large suitcases (she is 4'10") and there is no way she would be able to travel here if I don't go get her. I am hoping I will get my visa and exemption to go there by the time she finishes getting her 2nd medical and her visa. Or better yet by then PH loosens their restrictions.

Same height as my wife.   The upside is that EVERY airline seat is a business class seat in terms of legroom.

I really wish the best for the new medical.  That's a disappointing detail.

Yes, there is a delivery fee to deliver the passport with US visa. My son paid 450 pesos when they delivered his passport visa 3 months ago.

That's my understanding as well.  I hope it will be different for OP's wife, but best to be prepared for another round of sputum testing.
