Hi, Just filled this out myself. I used my mother and a friend of my husbands. They both talked about personal times we have had together. Our friend mentioned about going on a small vacation with us and my mother talled about how my husband helps her around the house. I figure they just want every day situations that proves you lives together and that you move in society as a married couple.

I used my Father, Mother and Cousin.. Instead of having letters notarized, I had them put the following:

"I declare under penalty of perjury under the laws of the United States that the forgoing is true and correct. "

Signed and dated.. It worked for us

i just wanted to mention that these affidavits are not a necessity but just a suggestion and they are good for people who might not have a lot of evidence....

we didn't submit any and we were approved with no problems and from what I recall a lot of people here have not submitted them and they haven;t had any problems either...

Note the definition of affidavit. If they're not notarized, or at least signed before some other public official who is authorized to take affidavits, then they're not affidavits.

Since, as others have pointed out, affidavits aren't required in the first place, sending an un-notarized letter instead of an affidavit won't necessarily harm things. But I question whether it's worth the effort.

If you have lots of other documentary evidence, don't worry about affidavits. But if you feel you're short on other documentary evidence, or if affidavits make you feel better, then go ahead and get actual affidavits, not un-notarized letters.

Do these letters actually have to be notarized? Or is it ok for your friends/family just to sign them? I have bank statements, lease agreement, photos of us all together and tax statements. Is this too little? But then again how much is too much, i don't want to send too much or too little. this drives me nuts!!!!!!
