Hi everyone! Our petition seems to be moving along pretty well, given that we've gone though the CSC. Ombeni received Packet 3 on June 27th. We've filled out the DS-230 and have gotten that off to the embassy. Now, we're doing the DS-156 so that we can schedule an interview appt. The instructions on the embassy website say:

1. Start the application process at application page. There you will complete and print-out the online Electronic Visa Application Form (EVAF). Please answer all questions. If a question does not pertain, type “none.” Applicants will be responsible for all the information on their form. The application must be dated and signed by the applicant. It is important also to print out the third page containing the “2D” bar code, which will track your application. Each intending traveler needs an individual application form, even small children included on their parents’ passports.

2. You will then be directed to the on-line application schedule where you will select your appointment date and time. All applications must be made in this format. Please follow the directions for using and printing the form. At the end of the process, you will print out a confirmation for your interview.

Ombeni has filled out the form, clicked continue, gotten to the PDF page and printed it out, but he is NOT directed to the online application schedule. Any ideas where this mysterious application schedule is?

The Dar Es Salaam consulate website does not give any clear instructions for procedures on Immigrant Visas, or the K-1 Fiancee visa, which is handled through most consulates Immigrant Visa Units. It does state on one of the pages

For information on religious, transit, fiancé, or other types of nonimmigrant visas, please call 266-4318 between 2:00 - 4:00 pm, Monday through Thursday.

and the email address for the Immigrant Visa Unit is:

drsiv@state.gov (for immigrant visa cases)

I would try those methods to contact the consulate....I'm not sure of the EVAF method of filling out visa forms, and/or scheduling the visa interview.

Good luck,

-P
